PURPOSE:To provide the titled recording material excellent in thermal response to a thermal head and long-time storability, by a method wherein a heat-sensitive color forming layer of a special composition consisting of a diazo compound, a coupler, a heat-fusible substance, an ultraviolet-curable resin and a nitrogen-containing compound is provided on a support. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive color forming layer provided on a support consists of 1pt.wt. diazo compound of formulaI, II or the like, a coupler (e.g., phenol), 2-30pts.wt. heat-fusible substance having a melting point or a softening point of 50-250 deg.C (e.g., 2-tribromoethanol), an ultraviolet-curable resin (e.g., polyvinyl cinnamylideneacetate) and 0.1-20pts.wt. nitrogen-containing compound (e.g., thiourea). Characters or an image recorded on the recording material can be fixed by curing the resin by irradiating with ultraviolet light and decomposing an unreacted diazo compound after forming the image, obtaining an image excellent in durability, water resistance and chemical resistance. |
