PURPOSE:To enable continuous carrying of recording paper, by transferring a discriminating code representing the presence/absence of the next page prior to the transfer of character data equivalent to one page, in transferring print data to a printer using cut recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A code 8 transmitted from a host system to a printer using cut recording paper is supplied to a code discrimination circuit 9. The circuit 9 discriminates whether the next page is present or not from a discriminating code of the 1st page transmitted. When the next page is present, the circuit 9 outputs a recording paper set signal 11 and a recording paper set preparing signal 12 at the same time. The signal 11 energizes a step motor via a motor driving circuit 13 to start recording of print data. The signal 12 controls a timing control circuit 16, starts the count of a clock signal 17 from the point of time when the motor 14 is driven, applies a recording paper set signal 18 at a prescribed time when the recording for the 1st page is made, to the circuit 13 for the feeding of the next recording paper, allowing to carry recording paper continuously. |
