PURPOSE:To reduce waveform distortion and to elevate distinction, by varying a potential level to be clipped, in accordance with a kind of a mgnetic tape to be used. CONSTITUTION:Input terminals 172, 173, 182 and 183 are input terminals of a control signal whose level is varied in accordance with a magnetic tape to be used. To a dark clipping circuit 17, a recording video luminance signal which has received preemphasis is inputted with constant DC voltage from an input terminal 171. This signal is inputted to a white clipping circuit 18, is applied to the anode of a diode D2, and a higher part than a white clip level is clipped. After that, the signal passes through an emitter following circuit consisting of a transistor Q3, is outputted to an output terminal 181, and is sent to an FM modulator of the poststage. |
