PURPOSE:To obtain a light guide for endoscope with bright illuminating light, by providing light guide fibers for a light guide pipe of polygonal shape formed through the combinatiion of triangles, to obtain an arrangement of heaping up in rice-bag like manner with a closest packing. CONSTITUTION:The cross section of a light guide fiber is circular S and when the fibers are heaped up like heaped straw rice-bags, a triangle-shaped packing is obtained, where the gaps are minimized by forming a closest packing. But when the light guide fibers 2 are arranged in a light guide pipe 1 having circular cross section, the straw rice-bag like arrangement can not be realized, then the packing is only about 78%. A closest packing state can be obtained by heaping up light guide fibers 11 like straw rice-bags by using a light guide pipe 12 formed with the combination of regular triangles. That is, the packing rate of the fibers 11 in the light guide 12 is about 90%, allowing to make the illumination light of a light guide for endoscope bright. |
