PURPOSE:To reduce the access time to the start of the reproduction of animations by developing recording media beforehand spacially, keeping these revolving at all times, and moving a read head three-dimensionally to the selected recording media. CONSTITUTION:When a request command is received, the operation for determining the high speed rotating position of a rotary stage 10 by a stage moving mechanism and the operation for determining the vertical high speed position of a disc selection carrier 7 by a disc selection mechanism are accomplished simultaneously in order to position a head conveying carrier 4 to the position opposite to an optical disc 1. When the selection operation of the disc 1 is completed, the carrier 4 moves at this same instant, and is positioned at a high speed up to the reproduction null position of the disc 1. The reproduction of animations is started immediately upon completion of the positioning. When the request command is released after the end of the animation reproduction or even during the course of reproduction, the carrier 4 moves immediately to the home position. After the completion of this movement, the device awaits the next request command. |
