In the ventilation of radiators, in which the cooling air inlet opening is located on the outside of the vehicle, the cooling fins of the radiator become coated with a layer of dirt depending on the level of pollution of the atmospheric air. In accordance with the invention, the air flow - relative to the direct flow connection between air inlet and radiator - is led over transverse air baffle plates into an area of an air ducting space removed from the radiator.
