PURPOSE:To manufacture titled extremely thin steel strips at a high total draft rate without performing intermediate annealing by holding a semistable annealed austenite stainless steel strip above specific temperature in the 2nd and succeeding passes by the heat that the steel strip has and deformation heat generated during rolling after performing 1-pass rolling while entrance-side temperature is prescribed. CONSTITUTION:For rolling said annealed steel strip, 1-pass rolling is carried out an entrance-side temperatures (Md30+100 deg.C)-(Md30+300 deg.C), where Md30 is one index of austenite stability shown by the equation. In the 2nd and succeeding passes, said steel strip is held above (Md30+100 deg.C) by the heat that the steel strip has and deformation heat, and is rolled at a >=80% total draft rate. For said temperature holding by the retention heat and deformation heat, when a Sendimir mill is used, the steel strip is rolled reversely. This manufacturing method solves various problems such as energy loss accompanying introduction of an intermediate annealing process and a rise in manufacturing cost due to an edge crack and a plate crack which occur when the intermediate annealing process is not introduced. |
