The invention relates to founding. A freely falling stream of molten metal is acted upon by an electromagnetic field and an electric current which are altered in accordance with a law in which there occur electrical alternating forces which act upon the melt at the frequency of the spontaneous disintegration of a freely falling stream in order to extract metal granules of a regular, spherical shape and identical size. The device for producing metal granules of this type includes a container (1) with an annular hose (2) which has a nozzle (3) which is located in the air gap of an electromagnet (5), the winding of which is connected to a frequency-controllable source (7) of the electric sinusoidal current. There are furthermore provided an inductor (8), which is surrounded by the hose (2), a source (9) of the electric rectangular current, a control unit (10) and a saturable reactor (11). <IMAGE>
