A trailer vehicle comprises a mechanical steering system which is responsive to a turning movement of a motive vehicle. The steering system includes a longitudinally rotatable shaft which is connected to a forward articulated extension by means of a linkage and pivot assembly. Lateral link rods extend between cranks mounted to the rotatable shaft and steering arms connected to wheel assemblies for steering the same in accordance with a turning movement of the motive vehicle. The trailer vehicle further includes a suspension system which ins adapted to attenuate the noise generated by the collision of frame elements which are pivotally connected to each other.
