Textile loom is provided with a movable breast beam and an automatic servo-control mechanism for controlling the position of the breast beam and consequently, the tension applied to the fabric. When loom speed drops. the breast beam is withdrawn to give rise to a drop in fabric tension. The redn. in tension as a function of the loom speed is introduced to suppress the barring effect caused by a drop in the beat-up speed of the loom reed.
