PURPOSE:To obtain a printer capable of being used as a serial type without ink leakage by providing a wire drive unit in a base integrally contacted with an ink immersing unit, introducing and guiding a wire from the inserting slot of the immersing unit and supplying the ink. CONSTITUTION:An ink immersing unit 3 is formed in a cylindrical shape, and an inserting slot 11 of a printing wire 6 is formed at a printing sheet 2 side. A cut groove 12 is formed at a base 5 integrally contacted with the unit 3 to be superposed with the slot 11, and a drive member 7 having a core 15, a leaf spring 16, a permanent magnet 17 and a coil 18 for driving the wire 6 is secured to a mounting plate 20 in the base 5. In this structure, when the wire 6 is operated, ink droplets discharged into or out of the base 5 are wiped off by the slot tong piece of the slot 11, and are prevented from being discharged. Since the base 5 itself can be freely moved with respect to a base 10, this printer can be used as a serial type printer. |
