The wheelchair is connected to a motorised front wheel (12) by an angled link element (11) which has a small wheel (26) at its lower end. The link is mounted to the front wheel by a horizontal articulation (27) which permits the angle between the link and the wheel support (16) to be altered. The middle of the front branch of the link is fitted with an automatically engaging bolt (29) which engages a complementary coupling (28) on the lower part of the wheel support. When the link is in place between the front and rear parts of the wheelchair, the support wheel is raised off the ground. |
