In this connecting element for connection to an implantable pacemaker, comprising a reception part of an insulating material with a recess for accommodation of an electrical connecting element which can be connected, on one end, to an electrical lead-through element that produces the electrical connection into the hermetically encapsulated housing of the pacemaker, and has, on the other end, a bore for reception of the pin of a connecting plug of the electrode leading to the heart, the pin being held by means of a locking screw located in a threaded bore of the connecting element, an opening which permits access to the locking screw by a tool being provided in the reception part and the opening being sealable with a stopper, the stopper (16) is made resilient such that it can be pierced by a pointed fixing tool (24) and such that the opening produced after removal of the fixing tool is hermetically sealed again against penetrating body fluid. <IMAGE>
