PURPOSE:To secure the reliability of the operation of hands and to lower the consumption of power by a step motor by setting a plurality of detection pulses and thereby eliminating false detection caused by the occurrence of an intermediate stoppage. CONSTITUTION:A step motor is constituted by a coil 1, a rotor 2 magnetized at two poles and a stator 3, and the stator 3 has inner notches 5-a, 5-b and outer notches 4-a, 4-b. When the coil is not excited, the rotor 2 is at a standstill in the direction forming an angle of 90 degrees to the direction connecting two inner notches. Compensation pulses 22 and 24 are prepared behind detection pulses 21 and 23 to be impressed on the coil 1, respectively, and are delivered when the rotor is determined to be in the state of non-rotation. A driving pulse 20 is delivered with the most appropriate pulse width out of a plurality of pulse width prepared beforehand, according to the state of load on wheel lines and that of the output torque of the motor at that time. As the result, a current flows through the coil and the rotor comes in any of statically stable points without fail when the detection pulse is applied. |
