PURPOSE:To form a printing plate by the formation of desired hydrophilic-lipophilic patterns on a photoconductor by laminating an insulating liquid film and a specific conductive developing soln. film on the surface of the photoconductor and subjecting the same to image-like exposure while applying electrostatic voltage thereto. CONSTITUTION:A liquid film 3 of insulating liquid inert to a photoconductive layer (insulating resin layer dispersed with photoconductive particles) 1 (about>= 10<10>OMEGAcm specific resistance, e.g., n-hexane, carbon tetrachloride, etc.) and about 0.5-30mu thicknesses, a liquid film 4 of a conductive developing soln. contg. a desensitizing agent and non-compatible with said insulating liquid (about<=10<6>OMEGA specific rsistance, e.g.; water dissolved with gum arabic) and an electrode 5 are laminated on a conductive substrate 2. While electrostatic voltage is applied between the substrate 2 and the electrode 5 by an electric power source 6, the light image of an original 7 is irradiated to the layer 1 (symbol 8 is active rays) to impart hydrophilic property to the exposure parts of the photoconductor, whereby the printing plate is formed. |
