摘要 The generator according to the abovementioned invention, predominantly provided for use in motor vehicles, is a three-phase or AC generator (alternator) having semiconductor rectification connected to it. The rotating magnetic field which is necessary for excitation (energising) is not produced by windings through which current flows and which are installed in the rotor but by permanent magnets which are likewise installed there, as a result of which the dynamo requires no slipperings or brushes for supplying the excitation current. The power generation is controlled (regulated) via a shunt winding which is wound in the same sense as the main winding and through which direct current flows, and whose magnetic field is combined with the magnetic field induced by the rotor. In the half cycle in which the magnetic fields are additive, magnetic saturation is reached in the iron of the generator, during which no power is generated since there is no change in the induction, to be precise in a portion of the half cycle which becomes larger as the current intensity in the shunt winding increases. As a result of the absence of slipperings and brushes, a generator of this type requires no maintenance. The attached outline diagram shows an exemplary embodiment of an AC generator. <IMAGE>
