PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a parking brake lever and surely prevent its wrong operation, by providing a curved part in a push rod which is provided in the brake lever to lock it up and by deflecting the curved part of the push rod when the wrong operation is effected. CONSTITUTION:The body 3 of a brake lever is rotatably supported by a pin 4 on a ratchet plate 1 in such a manner that both the sides of the lever body cover the ratchet plate. A pawl is rotatably supported by a pin 8 on the lever body 3 over the teeth 2 of the ratchet plate 1. One end of a push rod 9 is coupled to that of the pawl and a push button 10 is coupled to the other end of the rod. The rod 9 is provided with a V-shaped curved halfway part 9a. When the button 10 is only pushed in, the curved part 9a is deflected to absorb the pushing force so that the pawl and the teeth 2 are not disengaged from each other. |
