PURPOSE:To provide a roll which can mold slurry to be smooth and be of uniform thickness by providing a plurality of projections on the surface of the roll and covering the outer periphery of the roll with a netlike material to form a gap portion in such a manner that slurry may not adhere to the surface of the roll. CONSTITUTION:The peripheral surface of a cylindrical roll 1 is provided with plural small projections 2 and ring-shaped projections 2' of uniform height, and the outer periphery of the roll 1 is covered with a metallic netlike material 3 so as to form a gap portion 4 of about 0.05mm. between the peripheral surface of the roll 1 and the netlike material 3. The roll 1 is disposed on an endless stainless belt with a space corresponding to the predetermined thickness of slurry, so that when slurry is transferred onto the belt, the slurry is molded to be smooth and be of uniform thickness, not adhering to the surface of the netlike material 3. |
