PURPOSE:To obtain a clear record having good preservability at a low running cost by a method wherein a development layer containing a sublimable material is provided on a surface of an ink carrier, the material is sublimed by heating to produce a recessed part, thereafter an ink is coated on the surface and is transferred to a recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A developing material 12 containing a sublimable material melted by heating by a heater 22 is coated on the outside periphery of the ink carrier 1 through a straightening roller 2 to form a smooth development layer 3. Since the temperature of the roller 2 is high, most portion of the developing material 12 is made to form the smooth development layer 3 by surface tension after passing through a contacting part making contact with the carrier 1 which is kept at a low temperare. After solidifying the layer 3 by forcibly cooling, heating elements 5 are selectively operated through a thermal head 4 pressed against the layer 3 to heat the layer 3, whereby the sublimable material is sublimed to produce the recessed parts l. After coating the ink on the recessed parts l through a feeder 6, the coated ink is transferred to an ordinary paper 10 by transfer roller 9, thereby obtaining a record. |
