<p>A method for optimising the air input in an activated sludge mixt. in a sewage treatment plant is based on forming a function F.P2, where P is the difference of the partial oxygen pressures in the air entering the leaving the mixt., and F is the air input rate. The derivative of this function is used as the controlling figure for the optimum air input rate. The concentration of the dissolved oxygen is then just right to effect a 100% aerobic reaction, corresponding to approximately 0.4 ppm dissolved oxygen.</p> |
