PURPOSE:To obtain a rod of irregular sections continuously at a high speed with one stage without producing swarf by superposing a flat rod for formation of a projecting part on a base which is a flat rod and rolling these by using a stepped roll thereby press sticking these. CONSTITUTION:While a flat rod 2 which forms a projecting part is superposed on the central part of a flat rod 1 which is a base, these are introduced between a flat roll 3 and a stepped roll 4, by which these are rolled. By this rolling, the rods 1 and 2 are press stuck and are simultaneously worked to a prescribed size. Not only the speed of production is increased but also the thickness accuracy of the rods is improved and the rods of irregular sections of intricate shapes are formed easily by this press welding method. |
