PURPOSE:To remove an optical memory due to the external light exposure of a photosensitive drum by performing a transferring and a destaticizing process repeatedly. CONSTITUTION:If a paper jam occurs during copying, the photosensitive drum of an upper and lower separation type copying machine is exposed to external light to form an undesired optical memory, but when paper is removed and the drum is equipped to close an automatic opening and closure detection switch 20, the drum 1 rotates again until a process wherein a corona charger 8 for transfer, a corona charger 10 for destaticizing, and a light destaticizer 11 operate successively is repeated four times, and then stops, thus removing the memory. During this operation, none of a corona charger 2, an optical system 3, an illuminating device 6, a developing device 7, and a feeding and conveying driving system for copying paper 9 operates. |
