PURPOSE:To obtain a recording member which has superior shelf stability and permits selection of both positive and negative images by laminating an air permeable layer, a basic material generating layer, an intermediate layer and a coloring layer successively on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A basic material generating layer consisting essentially of cobalt (III) ammine complex and/or a redox couple of polynuclear quinone exhibiting absorption in a 400-550nm wavelength region with cobalt (III) amine complex and a hydrogen donator, and a chelating agent of small visible light absorption when coordinated into cobalt is provided on a substrate. Further, a coloring layer consisting essentially of oxidizable leuco triaryl methane, an acid assisting coloring, and hexaaryl biimidazole serving as a photooxidizing agent to leuco triaryl methane by absorbing UV rays is provided via an intermediate layer of a water soluble resin and/or emulsion resin thereon. |
