<p>During intermittent operation of a motor vehicle, acceleration phases with engine drive and undriven rolling alternate with one another. In the clutch device according to the invention, the clutch (1) is disengaged automatically with the aid of a cylinder/piston unit (6, 6a) when a gas pedal (12) is released, or is automatically engaged when the gas pedal is again depressed. Thus, an undriven rolling can be easily effected by the driver of the motor vehicle. The cylinder/piston unit (6, 6a) is controlled by a two-way valve (7) comprising two solenoids (11, 12). For controlling the two-way valve (7), only current pulses are applied to the solenoids (11, 12) so that the two-way valve (7) is placed in a defined fixed position after each control pulse. In contrast to a spring-loaded two-way valve, this prevents the clutch suddenly engaging at full speed during the undriven rolling and leading to dangerous driving conditions in the case of a disturbance in the electrical system of the vehicle. <IMAGE></p> |
