PURPOSE:To improve a cooling effect and to make continuous production possible providing flow passages for cooling fluid between a metallic circular columnar body and core of a cooling drum and preventing the flow of the flowing direction of the cooling fluid in the rotating direction by rotation. CONSTITUTION:A metallic circular columnar body 1 is rotated, and cooling fluid is fed by a pressure through a cooling fluid inlet casing 6, by which molten metal is sprayed onto a heat transmitting surface 10. The cooling fluid flows through a revolving shaft 4 and enters the inside of flow passages 3 from the end face of a core 2. Since the rear surface of the body 1 is held covered with a stationary flow guide 12, the fluid has only the velocity component in the axial line direction. The fluid passes through the passages 3, deprives the heat transmitting surface and heat transmitting and reinforcing fins 11 of heat, thereby cooling these. The fluid is discharged through a revolving shaft 4 and a cooling fluid outlet casing 7. Since flow regulating plates 20 are provided in the core 2, the rotation of the cooling fluid as a whole is further suppressed and the cooling effect is improved. |
