PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for the heat drying of transfer paper and the large-amount consumption of a developer and preventing a developer solvent from sticking by coating a drum with a low surface energy material before development. CONSTITUTION:A low surface energy material, such as ''Teflon '', is pressed against a rod body 15 or brought into contact with a rotary brush, and consequently it is ground by a photosensitive drum 1 to stick to a drum surface as powder. In another way, a photosensitive drum 1 may be coated with a liquid 18 of ''Teflon '' by a roller 20. Since a film of the low surface energy material repels a solvent of a developer 7, only toner dispersed in the developer 7 is attracted to an electrostatic image and sticks to the drum surface during development. A small amount of the solvent remains, so transfer to even paper 11, such as straw paper, having less smoothness is achieved. Consequently, the need for the heat drying of transfer paper is eliminated and the large-amount of consumption of the developer is prevented. |
