PURPOSE:To obtain a highly heat resistent and cold resistent oil seal by providing an optional number of concavities and convexites in an axial direction or in a direction inclined toward the axis at or in vicinity to a friction sealing surface made of an anelastic super flexible alloy. CONSTITUTION:A seal lip 2 is made of a super flexible alloy having anelasticity and a number of concavities and convexities (D) are made at a seal angle side (S) in an axial direction. This concavity-convexity (D) is put into contact with or placed close to a contact point (E). When an axis is rotated, a contact point (M) is twisted in a rotating direction of the axis and the concavity-convexity (D) is slanted to generate twisted viscous pumpoing action. In this way, flw of fluid contiguous to an oil level angle side (O) is limited by this twisted viscous pumping action. |
