PURPOSE:To prevent generation of excessive torque applied to a power train due to a moving radius difference between front and rear wheels, in a 4-wheel driven car equipped with a horizontal engine, by such constitution that rotary power of an output shaft is transmitted to front and rear wheel differential gear mechanisms through a differential planetary gear mechanism. CONSTITUTION:An input shaft 4 of a speed change mechanism 7 is connected to a crankshaft 2 of an engine, horizontally mounted to the front part of a car body, through a clutch, and the first hollow driving shaft 25 is rotatably supported parallelly to an output shaft 6 of the speed change mechanism 7. An extension part 28 of a differential planetary gear mechanism 41 is spline coupled to this driving shaft 25, while an extension part 31 of a ring gear 30 in the mechanism 41 is connected to a differential gear case 33 in the first differential mechanism 32 relating to a front wheel driving shaft 36. A bevel gear 40 is connected to an extension part 39 of a sun gear 38 in said mechanism 41, and a bevel gear 43, provided to one end of a propeller shaft 44 of the second differential mechanism 45 relating to a rear wheel driving shaft 46, is meshed to the bevel gear 40.
