PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a columnar body and columnar body joint capable of eliminating dislocation of mutually confronting grooves caused by manufacturing errors or intrusion of foreign materials and engagedly locking the a cylindrical part and an shaft part by inserting a key member into the opposite grooves. SOLUTION: A cylinder inner peripheral face 23 and an a shaft outer peripheral face 13 forming a plane parallel to the axial center of a columnar body respectively are dividediy arranged in the cylinder part 21 and the shaft part 11, a cylinder inside opposite end face 21A and a shaft inside opposite end face 11A mutually confronting the columnar body axial direction at the axial inside, and a cylinder outside opposite end face 21B and a shaft outside opposite end face 11B mutually confronting the columnar body axial direction at the axial outside are dividediy arranged in the columnar body. A gap S is formed between the cylinder inside opposite end face 21A and the shaft inside opposite end face 11A, and between the cylinder outside opposite end face 21B and the shaft outside opposite end face 11B respectively, in the connected state that the key member 3 is arranged astride over the inward groove 22 and the outward groove 12.
