PURPOSE:To produce all kinds of steels from extra low carbon steel to middle and high carbon steels with the same converter by setting the flow rate of a bottom blowing gas to an adequate flow rate in correspondence to the kind of the steel to be produced and seetting the rate of oxygen supply in correspondence to the target carbon content in a steel bath at the end of blowing. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of converter refining by top and bottom blowing, the flow rate of the bottom blowing gas is set at an adequate flow rate in correspondence to the kind of the steel to be produced. In the case of producing middle and high carbon steel of >=0.1% target carbon content in the steel bath at the end of blowing, the blowing is ended by keeping the rate of oxygen supply on the verge of ending of the blowing higher than the rate of oxygen supply before this. On the other hand, in the case of producing extra low carbon steel of <=0.03% target carbon content of the molten steel at the end of the blowing, the rate of oxygen supply on the verge of ending of the blowng is kept lower than the rate of oxygen supply before this. |
