<p>1470904 Treating polyoxadiazole fibres INVENTA AG FUR FORSCHUNG UND PATENTVERWERTUNG ZURICH 7 May 1975 [13 May 1974] 19107/75 Heading B5B [Also in Division D1] Aromatic poly-1,3,4-oxadiazole fibres are treated with at least one N-glycidyl compound. The fibres are obtained by wet-spinning; in the examples the solvent is concentrated H 2 SO 4 and the coagulant dimethylformamide. The coagulated filaments are passed through a water bath at 80‹ C. to wash them and they are simultaneously stretched. The filaments may be further washed, dried and stretched again, this time in a nitrogen atmosphere at 430‹ C. The N-glycidyl compound is applied before the heating treatment; optionally an emulsion of resorcinol/formaldehyde resin and latex may be applied after this heating. The preferred N-glycidyl compounds are N,N,N<SP>1</SP>,N<SP>1</SP>-tetraglycidyl derivatives of p-phenylene diamine; 4,4<SP>1</SP>-diaminodiphenylmethane; 4,4<SP>1 </SP>- diaminodiphenyl 2,2 - propane or N,N,O- triglycidyl-p-aminophenol.</p> |
