PURPOSE:To record a broad band signal with fidelity even with missing frequency characteristics of a magnetic head, by modulating signals with a modulator having a spectrum characteristic almost in coincidence with each band of a comb type recording and reproducing frequency characteristic and applying the signals to a recording head. CONSTITUTION:Filters 11-13 are frequency splitting filters having pass bands (d), (e) and (f) as shown in Figure. Spectrums (g), (h), and (i) of a high frequency signal generated from modulators 14-16 are determined so that they are respectively included in band widths determined with the thickness of the main magnetic pole of the recording head. The output of each modulator is applied to a recording head 18 via an addition amplifier 17 and magnetically recorded on a recording medium. Since the spectrums (g), (h) and (i) of the modulator output are determined so that they are respectively within a frequency band possible for recording and reproduction of the magnetic head, the information can be recorded through the avoidance of output disable frequencies. |
