PURPOSE:To obtain a device which can be make transmission/reception without an intermediate process such as print output, by transmitting documents formed with a word processor through the conversion into a signal from which can be received by a facsimile while keeping electric signal form. CONSTITUTION:In transmitting character information formed by a word processor to an opposing facsimile, the information stored in an external storage device 4 is converted into a graphic write signal in a character picture element level corresponding to codes at a CG converter 16. The converted graphic write signal is compressed to the time direction at a control circuit 17 and converted into an analog signal at a transmission section 19 and transmitted to the opposing facsimile device on a communication line such as a telephone line. Through the provision of a protocol discrimination section 18, communication can be made even to different protocols in a limited range. |
