PURPOSE:To make repeated use of a thermal transfer sheet made of porous paper of which one side is impregnated with heat-fusible ink possible, by impregnating the other side of said paper with a polymer of which melting point is higher than the heat-fusible ink. CONSTITUTION:One side of a porous paper is impregnated with heat-fusible ink and the other side of the porous paper is impregnated with a polymer of which melting point is higher than the heat-fusible ink. The recording of a thermal transfer sheet having such construction is accomplished in such a manner that it is placed over a sheet of ordinary paper and they are pressurized and heated from the polymer film side, by a thermal head and a proper amount of ink fused by pressure and heat is squeezed out from the porous paper and an image is transferred and printed on the ordinary paper. Since a recorded image is obtained by this manner, not all of ink of the recording portion of a thermal transfer sheet of this construction is transferred by one recording and the same sheet can be used for repeated recording. |
