PURPOSE:To make a Braun tube to be suitable for being introduced into other optical systems and for being used in carrying out an optical treatment such as a magnification or projection by providing numbers of short optical fibers on the inner side of a surface glass, which transmits displayed beams, so that one end of each short optical fiber faces to the said surface glass and the other end faces to a phosphorous matter. CONSTITUTION:As is indicated in the illustration in which optical fibers 3 are partially magnified, the optical fibers 3 shortly cut are located so that one end of each fiber 3 faces to the inner side of a surface glass 2 and the other end faces to a phosphorous matter scanned by electron beams. Thus, surface (A) scanned by electron beams is coated with the above phosphorous matter. Beams produced by the emission of the above phosphorous matter travel within the optical fibers 3 before they are discharged in the dirction indicated by arrow (B). A shadow mask 4 is located on the inner sides of the optical fibers 3. In the device of the invention, since beams discharged from the surface of the Braun tube travel straight toward the optical fibers 3 located on the inner side of the Braun tube, the traveling direction of the above beams can be controlled by the structure of the optical fibers 3. |
