The present object is a back cushion (5) which, to guarantee anatomically correct sitting has a reinforcement strip (7) which is arranged at least on the seat side and is formed from one or more resiliently flexible bands. These bands can twist about their longitudinal axis so that, when the user leans back, they not only deflect towards the rear in their central region but also twist about their longitudinal axis.
