PURPOSE:To ensure a uniform luminous intensity distribution over a wide area, by securing a prescribed relation between the space of discharge tubes and the distance from the center of the discharge tube to a plane aperture part and at the same time providing a reflecting plate having prescribed conditions. CONSTITUTION:A light source device consists of a straight flash discharge tube 1, a bottom surface reflecting plate 2, a side surface reflecting plate 3 and a plane aperture part 4. The conditions of expressionsIand II are satisfied among the light diffusing coefficient alpha and the light reflection factor beta of the plate 2, the distance R between a glass plate 4 of the plane aperture part and the center of the tube 1, and the space P between the contiguous tubes 1, respectively. |
