PURPOSE:To prevent any worker from being injured with the sewing-machine lines of a magnetic shield, which is installed inside a color picture tube and is used for shielding part of the electron-beam path, and prevent any funnel part and the like from being spoiled with the said sewing-machine lines by locating the said lines at the bottoms of the concaves of the magnetic shield so that the said lines don't protrude outward. CONSTITUTION:A square tubular body 3 used as a magnetic shield, which is formed by folding a magnetic metal plate at sewing-machine lines 4 into a square tubular shape, has trough-like concaves 5 extending along the lines 4 at its four corners, and the lines 4 are located at the bottoms of the concaves 5. Before the folding work, the plate 6 has concaves 7 with V-shaped sections in the areas of its four corners which are supposed to become crest lines, and the lines 4 are provided on the bottoms of the concaves 7. Then, the concaves 7 are turned into the trough-like concaves 5 by folding the metal 6 almost perpendicularly at the lines 4 into the square rubular body 3. Here, the shape of the concaves 5 is not limited to a trough-like shape, and the concaves 5 also work as reinforcing ribs. |
