PURPOSE:To prolong the working life before the forming of a particle board which will be prepared by bonding wood chips, by employing an urethan resin as an adhesive, and allowing the wood chips preliminarily to absorb water in an amount required for the foaming and hardening of the resin. CONSTITUTION:Water is added to the wood chips, or the drying degree of the wood chips is adjusted from the start, so that wood chips having a water content on the order of 10-30wt% are prepared. Thereafter, as an adhesive an urethan resin is added to the wood chips, and after they are well mixed, the mixture is formed on a stainless plate or the like, and then is pressed under heat to obtain the intended particle board. In this method, water would not be directly contact with the urethan resin, the water in the form of steam that is liberated when the mixture is pressed under heat reacts with the urethan resin to cause the resin to foam and cure. Accordingly, the work life before the forming of the particle board can remain long, and the working properties can be improved. |
