The process is used for preparing novel amines of the formula (I) <IMAGE> R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, n and X are defined in Patent Claim 1. In this process, compounds of the formula (IV) <IMAGE> in which R<1> has the abovementioned meaning are used as starting compounds which are reacted with compounds of the formula (V) <IMAGE> in which R<2>, R<3>, n and X have the meanings given in Patent Claim 1 and Z denotes an esterified hydroxyl group which is capable of reaction. The novel compounds demonstrate, inter alia, a beta -receptor-blocking effect.
