PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably extract edge information for objects m each image frame even if the objects are deformed or replaced between the image frames. SOLUTION: Target pixels are picked in sequence out of the edge information for the objects in the past image frame and pixels on the normal lines of edges on the target pixels are set as linear pixels. Pixels having pixel data similar to the target pixels on the linear pixels are searched in a present image frame and corresponding pixels are detected. The corresponding pixels on the linear pixels are detected for all target pixels to generate edge buffer areas for the objects in the present image frame.
