PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce in volume an outdoor unit while maintaining an evaporator for cold storage so as to always perform a cooling capability responding to a request. SOLUTION: A refrigerator comprises a high-temperature side refrigerant circuit (20) having a volume variable compressing mechanism (40a), an outdoor heat exchanger (32), an indoor heat exchanger (81) for cooling at least in a room, and a cooling heat exchanger (101) for cooling in the refrigerator. The refrigerator further comprises a volume controller (201) for controlling the volume of the compressing mechanism (40a) so that a low-pressure refrigerant pressure becomes a predetermined value. The refrigerator also comprises a heat absorbing capability controller (202) for preferentially operating the heat exchanger (101), when the low-pressure refrigerant pressure becomes a heat absorbing overload exceeding a predetermined upper limit value at a rated volume operating time of the mechanism (40a) to suppress the operating capability of the heat exchanger (81).
