PURPOSE:To improve measuring accuracy by inputting a signal related to the Q of a mechanical vibrator and a signal related to a resonant frequency into a computing circuit to perform computation, and obtaining a density signal wherein the effect of the viscosity of fluid to be measured is eliminated. CONSTITUTION:A density meter is formed by a cylindrical resonator 1 as the mechanical vibrator through which the fluid to be measured passes, a driving means 2 for the resonator, and a detecting means 3. The signal from the detecting means 3 is inputted to an oscillator 4, and its output is given to the driving means 2. Thus a self-oscillating type oscillating loop is formed. The output of a counter 5 which counts the frequency of the oscillator 4 and a gain measuring circuit 6 which measures the Q of the vibrator 1 are inputted to the computing circuit 7, and a specified computation is performed. Thus the density signal is obtained and displayed on a display circuit 8. Therefore, the effect of the viscosity of the fluid to be measured can be eliminated without using a viscosimeter and the like and the measuring accuracy can be improved. |
