PURPOSE:To enable even a large-sized work to be accurately measured in a micron order, by constituting a device such that a measuring part of a measuring device is freely moved in the same direction as and in a direction being perpendicular to a moving direction of an object to be measured and is guided by means of rollers. CONSTITUTION:Before starting a measurement, a total measuring device is retracted so that it is prevented from disturbing movement of a work 1, and the work 1 on a conveyor moves in the direction of an arrow mark A. In case the work 1 is brought to a stop in a specified position as shown in a 2-point chain line, when rollers 3 are raised in a direction of an arrow mark B, they stop at a measuring point as they are guided by a right side 1a of the work 1 as shown in a 2-point chain line, and a measuring length L is measured by measuring elements 4. In case the work 1 on the conveyor is brought to a stop at a position deviating by a distance l from the specified and the direction of the arrow mark A, the roller 3 (shown in a 2-point chain line), being raised in the direction of the arrow mark A, makes contact with a corner 1b of the work 1. Then, with the roller 3 turned, a frame 2 is moved by a distance l in the direction of the arrow mark A, and the roller 3 moves along the side 1a of the work 1 in the direction of the arrow mark B to measure a size L of the work 1. |
