PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mounting structure with ease wherein in a glow plug where a metal cylinder having a tip end of a ceramic heater protruded from a tip end of the cylinder and having the heater fixed is disposed and fixed in a plug body such that the tip end of the cylinder is protruded from a tip end of a body, the ceramic heater is mounted on a cylinder head in the metal cylinder, and thereafter even when any looseness occurs between the body and the cylinder, the cylinder is prevented from falling into an engine. SOLUTION: In the cylinder 3 an outer diameter D2 of a protruded portion 23 from the tip end 4 of a plug body 4 is made small, a tip end directed end surface 3t is formed at a different boundary of both outer diameters. An inner diameter D3 of a stopper portion in a mounting hole in a cylinder head to which stopper portion a body tip end 4a is pressed is made smaller than an outer diameter D1 of a large diameter section 33 of the cylinder 3. Since the cylinder 3 is prevented from moving by the stopper portion, it is prevented from falling in an engine even when it slips out from the body.
