PURPOSE:To inhibit the rotation of a monolithic catalyst around the shaft of a lower casing of a monolithic catalyst converter by providing a protruded part or a recessed part to the contact part of the converter. CONSTITUTION:A monolithic catalyst 3 is pressed and held to be arranged in an axial direction by a pair of ring like inner wall surfaces 5, 6 through cushion materials 4, 17 but, to the contact part of a downstream side, plural protrusions having a rectangular cross area are provided. By this structure, the ring like cushion material 17 of a downstream side and the protrusions 7 are pressed and engaged and the rotation of the ring like cushion material 17 is prevented. Therefore, the monolithic catalyst can be held flexibly and certainly to inhibit the rotation thereof. |
