PURPOSE:To detect the time of beginning and end of raw material charge so as to secure the constant operation of a blast furnace, by, in charging of raw material, detecting the charging time according to the current of the motor for driving a revolvable raw material charging shoot. CONSTITUTION:In a raw material charging apparatus of a bellless blast furnace, the raw material contained in a hopper 6 is measured by a weighing machine 5 and is charged through a flow rate control gate 4, a shoot 8, a revolvable shoot 2 to a blast furnace 1, and the time of the beginning and the end of raw material charge is determined more precisely by detecting the current, which changes accompanied by the passing of the raw material, of a driving motor 3 of the revolvable shoot 2 than by conventional method which measures the weight change of the hopper 6, without causing too quick or too late start of measuring, whereby raw material charge distribution is preferably controlled, and constant operation of the blast furnace is secured. |
