PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coefficient updating module, a coefficient updating device, a program for realizing them, and a recording medium in which the program is stored capable of quickly and precisely obtaining a suitable coefficient even when the S/N of an input signal is extremely small. SOLUTION: A vector space indicates a coefficient to be applied to an FIR filter from a vector U<-> indicating r (≠0) pieces of different column vectors constituted of the N pieces of instantaneous values of an input signal uK to be inputted in the order of a time series k, a vector d<-> indicating the column of (r) pieces of instantaneous values of an output signal dK to be outputted by an unknown system, and a prescribed numberρ(>=0). A convex set being the set of coefficient vectors h<-> from which an inequality||d<-> -U<-t> h<->||<2> -ρ<=0 is established is specified by convex set specifying means, and distance projection to an isolated super-plane interposed beside the convex set is calculated from a coefficient vector h<-> K precedently applied as a coefficient to the FIR filter as a following coefficient vector h<-> K+1 by a coefficient calculating means.
