PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant polyester combined filament yarn satisfying flame-retardance, flame-retarding durability and softness and voluminouseness caused by moderate bulkiness and provide a woven or knit fabric produced by using the yarn. SOLUTION: The combined filament yarn is composed of two kinds of polyester multifilament groups (A) and (B). At least one of the polyester multifilament group contains phosphorus atoms in an amount of 500-50,000 ppm, the combined filament yarn satisfies the formulas SHW>=50(%), Ts>=40( deg.C) andσ160 >=0.18 (cN/dtex) (SHW is shrinkage in boiling water; Ts is the rise starting temperature of stress on a thermal stress curve; andσ160 is thermal stress at 160 deg.C) and the yarn develops loops by dry-heat treatment at 160 deg.C for 30 min without applying a load.
