A valve arrangement for a mixing valve comprises two discs 8, 9 abutting sealingly against each other. A first disc 8 is provided with two inlets for cold and hot water, respectively, and an outlet 45 for mixed water. A second disc 9 has a mixing duct 24 in which a silencing strainer 31 is placed. The strainer 31 has a sidewall which consists of two wall portions folded over each other, of which the outer abuts on the wall of the mixing duct.
